Химическая структура пигментов этой группы до сих пор не раскрыта. Данные о физико-химических характеристиках мареннина получены преимущественно для одного вида – H. ostrearia. За последние полтора десятилетия описаны четыре новых мареннин-продуцирующих вида, что открывает перспективу изучения биоразнообразия рода Haslea и соответственно разнообразия мареннинов. Мареннин-продуцирующие представители диатомовых рода Haslea накапливают пигмент в апикальных концах клеток, а также выделяют его во внешнюю среду, благодаря чему она приобретает зеленовато-синий цвет. Роль мареннина в функционировании клеток диатомовых неизвестна, но можно допустить, что пигмент, не участвующий в фотосинтезе и поглощающий свет преимущественно в ультрафиолетовой, фиолетовой и красной областях, является фотопротектором. Химический состав и спектральные характеристики мареннинов, продуцируемых разными видами Haslea, слегка различаются. В то время как у некоторых видов, особенно у H. ostrearia, физико-химические свойства мареннина описаны достаточно обстоятельно, пигмент H. karadagensis – эндемика Черного моря – остается практически неисследованным. В работе представлены в сравнении характерные для заданных условий спектрофотометрические и физико-химические показатели мареннинов H. karadagensis и H. ostrearia. Определены значения кажущихся констант диссоциации и изобестических точек для мареннинов обеих диатомей.</p></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Marennine and marennine-like pigments produced by certain diatom species of the genus Haslea are unique water-soluble compounds with several valuable properties. The exact chemical structure of these pigments has not been fully elucidated, but data on the physical and chemical characteristics of marennines have been obtained primarily for H. ostrearia. Over the past fifteen years, four additional species producing marennine have been identified, which opens up the opportunity to explore the diversity within the genus Haslea and, consequently, the diversity of marennines. Diatom representatives of the genus Haslea, that produce marennine, accumulate pigment at the apices of their cells and release it into the external environment, giving the surrounding water a greenish-blue color. Although the exact role of marennine in diatom cellular function is unknown, it is believed to act as a photoprotectant, absorbing light in the ultraviolet (UV), violet, and red wavelengths, as it does not participate in photosynthesis. The chemical composition and spectral properties of marennines produced by different Haslea species vary slightly, although the physical and chemical characteristics of marennine from H. ostrearia have been extensively studied. While the physicochemical properties of marennine in some species, particularly H. ostrearia, have been described in detail, the pigment in H. karadagensis, an endemic species of the Black Sea region, remains largely unexplored. The study presents a comparison of the spectrophotometric and physicochemical characteristics of marennine from H. karadagensis and H. ostrearia under given conditions.
