<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Chromatin is designed to tightly package DNA into the eukaryotic nucleus while maintaining its proper functioning. This review describes the mechanisms by which RNA polymerase III transcribes through the chromatin templates. This mechanism is characteristic of eukaryotic Pol III, bacteriophage RNA polymerases, and probably ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complexes. In this case, nucleosomes are translocated without release of the octamer into solution.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>хроматин</kwd><kwd>транскрипция</kwd><kwd>элонгация</kwd><kwd>нуклеосома</kwd><kwd>РНК-полимераза 3</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>chromatin</kwd><kwd>transcription</kwd><kwd>elongation</kwd><kwd>nucleosome</kwd><kwd>RNA polymerase III</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Borukhov S., Nudler E.
