BACTERIA-EPIPHYTES OF BROWN MACRO ALGA IN UTILIZATION OF OIL IN ECOSYSTEMS OF NORTH SEA

Abstract

By method of luminescent microscopy epiphytic microbial community of Fucus sp. — sea macrophyts collected in the littoral zone of White Sea was investigated. Abundant colonization of a surface of the macrophyts by various bacteria, yeast and microscopic alga was revealed. With use of fukuses thallus fragments enrichment culture of microorganisms — active oxidizers of oil and its derivatives was obtain. In macrocosm experiments on a biological research station of MSU at the conditions imitate the natural high oxidizing ability of selected cultures of epiphytic microbial community was demonstrated. The rate of oil utilization depends on its concentration and amount of epiphytic microbial community biomass used for this process.
