MOLECULAR MECHANISMS OF TRANSCRIPTION THROUGH CHROMATIN BY RNA POLYMERASE III
https://doi.org/10.1234/XXXX-XXXX-2012-3-6-11
Abstract
Chromatin is designed to tightly package DNA into the eukaryotic nucleus while maintaining its proper functioning. This review describes the mechanisms by which RNA polymerase III transcribes through the chromatin templates. This mechanism is characteristic of eukaryotic Pol III, bacteriophage RNA polymerases, and probably ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling complexes. In this case, nucleosomes are translocated without release of the octamer into solution.
