Physiology
Experiments on females of nonlinear white rats have been carried out to examine effects of the drug derinat (extract from sturgeon milt containing sodium salt of DNA) on two-way avoidance response and its reversible functional disturbances caused by sudden changes of cause- effects and spatial relations in experimental environments. It is concluded that the drug displays nootropic-like properties.
Studying of communication between features of the constitution and mentality of the person traditionally represents one of mainstreams of researches in anthropology. And in our research we have decided to tiy to reveal communication between morpho-constitutional features and a level of a self-estimation at children and teenagers. The received results have revealed some age laws of interrelation of morphology and a self-estimation of pupils and were base for the further researches.
Genetics
The results of analysis of data concerning different ways of fasciated floral meristem formation are presented. It had been demonstrated that clear distinguishing between cases of enlargement of single growing point and unification of few into one is impossible. The frequency of floral developmental abnormalities may serve as criterion for such classification.
We have studied the activity of the chimeric gene DR5::GUS that indicates the spatial pattern of free auxin distribution and relative auxin level in the tissues of A. thaliana plants. It is established that the temperature sensitive abr mutation leads to temperature-dependent increased accumulation of the free auxin in leaves, stamens and sepals in comparison to control plants homo- zygous for the wild type allele ABRUPTUS/PINOID. Our data revealed the important role of the ABRUPTUS/PINOID gene in the regulation of the auxin polar transport.
Ecology
Data about biopolymers, their distribution, space order in cyanobacterium Synechococcus 6301 cells as well as certain layer of cells cultivated in periodic and dialysis conditions were obtained by method of internal reflection spectroscopy. Distinction in kind of culture behavior in different cultivation conditions was shown. Similar approach may be used for standard specification of limiting concentration in laboratory conditions, test-object standardization and culture creation with maximum possible adaptation at environment variable conditions.
On the basis of hydrocarbon-oxidizing strain Phyllobacterium myrsinacearum DKS-1, isolated from shelf waters of North Caspian sea, the bioagent "Phyloil" in the liquid and in the dry form, on a carrier, is developed. The tests of a bioagent application have shown efficiency of its usage for cleaning of a seawater from oil hydrocarbons, including polycyclic aromatic ones.
Mycology and Algology
The myxomycetes species variability in Moscow, and partially Kaluga regions are investigated. The study was performed during 10.07.2007—20.09.2008. The annotated list includes 81 species belonging to 23 genera. Novel species for Moscow region are indicated.
Fauna, Flora
This paper presents an overview of the Chinese and Russian scientific literature to identify research centers which study the pathology of fish and other aquatic organisms. We made a comparative analysis of scientific problems and objects of these laboratories and institutes of Russia and China. We present our own data on the rapid method of early diagnosis of fish diseases.
Research was carried out in 1999—2005 at Zvenigorod Biological Station (the Moscow Region, Russia, 55°44' N, 36°51' E). Birds were caught by mist-nets. The data of the Russian Ringing Centre (from 1948) on all the robins ringed and recovered in the Moscow Region were also analyzed. In total 5751 robins were caught and ringed in the Moscow Region during 1999—2005. Only two birds (0,03%) were recaptured next years. Three birds ringed in the Moscow Region were found in other regions. Also two robins that had been ringed in other countries were caught at Zvenigorod Biological Station. The percent of long-distant recoveries was 0,09%. Besides of our data there is information of the Russian Ringing Centre on three robins that had been ringed in other countries and found in the Moscow Region. Also there was one robin that had been ringed in the Moscow Region and then found in other country. Robins bom or breed in the Moscow Region show no fidelity to the place of nesting neither to the place of bom. Winter area of robins bom or breed in the Moscow Region is situated at north-east of Spain, south of France and Italy. It is possible that robins return in the same winter area in first and next years. There is common route connecting the robin winter area and the Moscow Region which birds use during autumn and spring migrations. Robins bom and breed in other areas have the same winter area. It is possible to suppose robins of northern origin (up to Finland and the Leningrad Region) come to the Moscow Region for breeding. A possible distance of robin movements between the places of bom or/and breed is about 1000 km or more.
